Kaely and Doug Tie the Knot at UVA
Saturday, June 23rd, 2007There is only one word to describe this day…PERFECT. Green, green grass….blue, blue sky….partly cloudy, a breezy 85 degree day….AMAZING. The ceremony was held at the esteemed University of Virginia Chapel while the newly opened, Old Trail Golf Club, played host to the reception. Kaely and Doug had a very large bridal party sporting seersucker suits and ivory bridesmaid gowns accenting the brides gorgeous ivory gown perfectly.
You could not take a bad shot at the golf club as amazing greens flanked the reception on all sides. Kaely and Doug were complete hams on our private shoot until Doug accidentally whacked Kaely in the face with a club. Whoops, no major damage was done, but we all laughed pretty hard.
I have to say that the father/daughter and mother/son dance was the most incredibly sentimental moment. I was fighting back tears along with the rest of the crowd. It is a beautiful honor to document these raw emotions and capture the love between newlyweds and their families.
Kaely and Doug, you are an amazing couple with a rich love and supportive family and friends. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your day. We loved every second! Hope the secret honeymoon was golf club free for Kaely’s sake!
Kaely’s Bridal Session
Wednesday, June 6th, 2007Another University of Virginia graduate is about to tie the knot. Kaely decided to squeeze in a bridal session just a few weeks before we shot her wedding. She wanted to make sure we captured her alma mater as well as the garden which Doug proposed to her at. The only problem is, UVA hosts dozens of hidden gardens and Kaely had a heck of a time finding the right one. It made for some good laughs and helped loosen her up, she even threw in an amazing leap across the main lawn. You can’t take a bad picture on this campus, the columns and exquisite greenery were the perfect backdrop for her Grecian inspired gown.

Saturday, June 2nd, 2007An American wedding with a Latin American twist. James Madison University Aboretum was host to Juan and Joanna Bialet’s special day. Family and friends came from all over the world, literally! An outdoor ceremony was followed by delicious Argentinian cuisine at the beautiful Joshua Wilton House.
You guys were a blast to spend the day with and your family really knows how to celebrate! We really enjoyed our private session with you both, you have such a relaxed nature that was easy to capture. Joanna, you gave some priceless expressions, I laugh everytime I look at your “roller coaster” shot. Congrats you guys, hope the honeymoon went smoothly.
…and they lived happily ever after….
