A Thankful Year
Friday, November 30th, 2007There is no way I could let Thanksgiving go by without mentioning how thankful I am for my wonderful family. Not only has God tremendously grown our business the last few years, but he has expanded our family two fold!
In November 2006 our little Chloe Grace entered the world bright eyed and bushy headed. The sweetness bundled in this child is palpable. I know I am biased, but she is absolutely the most perfect little girl we could have ever prayed for. She is ridiculously laid back and easy going and so incredibly sweet. With rolls for miles, big chocolate eyes and perky hair…..my heart is fit to burst on most days when I look at her. Kellan allows me to stay home with my daughter and I could not be more thankful for this opportunity to raise Chloe personally.
As surprise of all surprises would happen in September we found out we are expecting baby Portnoy #2, or “Porty” as we call the baby, due to make an entrance in very early May. Life is rich.
I am ashamed and yet proud to say I have nearly 1,500 pictures of Chloe over her first year of life! How can I resist not snapping the thousands of expressions she seems to make or those delicious rolls covering her pudgy little body. I have only printed a handful of them…isn’t that horrible? That is the life of a photographer, running to the printers for everyone but yourself! So enjoy a look back at some of the many faces of Chloe over her first year.

I have to show off the incredible rolls….she kills me….those legs could feed a third world country for a month. I love it!
Soon my baby wasn’t a baby but a little girl who was getting independent, strong and mobile….sigh.

April and Josh…a fall celebration
Monday, November 19th, 2007November 3rd was an extremely busy day in our world. Not only was it the annual Bridal Showcase, but we also had a wedding booked. Ryan and I had to divide and conquer so I held down the fort at the trade show while he shot April and Josh’s beautiful fall wedding.
April, by far, was one of the most organized brides I have ever worked with. I can appreciate all her glorious lists as I am an avid list maker myself. The day could not have cooperated any better and with the leaves still hanging on to their fall colors, there were pops of orange, red and yellow all around. The sky blew me away. I can not believe how incredibly blue and rich it was. Color everywhere, my favorite!
The most unique touch that said, “April and Josh” was their Chinese details at the reception. Both April and Josh spent a significant time over in China and wanted to bring a taste of that back to family and friends.
Truly a beautiful day and a beautiful couple. April, I have to say, you look like a classic Hollywood actress from the 40’s, your dress, hair and amazing makeup….BEAUTIFUL! So sorry I had to miss it, but it looks like Ryan and Susanna didn’t miss a detail!
