Amy and Jason 10.18.08

It was fate. There were only two degrees separating us from Amy and Jason and we didn’t even know it. Ryan’s dad teaches at the same high school as Amy, Jason and Amy’s mom Janet. They must have sensed a Portnoy was needed to complete their wedding plans.
These two are hilarious. You can tell they have a tremendous sense of humor and VERY laidback approach to just about everything. Amy has one of those highly contagious laughs and a smile that stretches from ear to ear. Needless to say, we jived big time with them.
They planned a beautiful outdoor wedding at the Box Tree Lodge in Vinton, Virginia. It is a very rustic location overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountains. A perfect fall location.
Loved the pop of color in her shoes and her gorgeous bouquet fashioned together by the fabulous Rod Meek. The color of the calla lilies was breathtaking.
The flower girls were addicting to photograph. What little girl doesn’t love to twirl? So much fun!
Sammi was one of the most inquisitive toddlers I have ever seen about our cameras. She wanted to hold the camera, take pictures and scroll through and look at what she shot over and over and over. A budding photographer.

Mr. and Mrs. Page
So pretty
There was an old tree house on the property.
I absolutely love this shot. CHEMISTRY!!!!
Is it me or does she look a lot like Jessica Biel?
I think I have teeth envy.
First dance
Father/daughter dance. The music went from sentimental right into Guns and Roses “Sweet Child of Mine” where Amy and her dad started playing air guitars and dancing around all crazy. It was really funny.
Amy and Jason got put on the spot to dance the routine they performed for the pep rally at the school where they teach. A little Soldier Boy.
A little Michael Jackson courtesy of Jason.
There was a fire pit outside with a Smores bar. We just had to incorporate it into a ring shot!
Truly an awesome night FULL of laughter and I have to admit, I totally teared up during the vows…wow…very touching. You guys are off the chain fun and your friendship and love for one another is beautiful to witness. Thank you for a terrific shoot.

I love love love browsing through your wedding shoot photos. I wish I had you around on my wedding day. The fun and joy is displayed in all your photos, yet you manage to capture some of the seriousness as well. You’re so creative!!
