Two, deux, dos…..let the tantrums begin

My ultra laidback babe just celebrated her 2nd birthday. Chloe was one of those dream babies that just rolled with. You want to wake me up an hour early…NO PROBLEM, you want to drag me to Target for two hours….NO PROBLEM. “No problem” could have been her middle name. She was sweet and all things nice.
Once she was mobile I noticed a little “will” rearing it’s head when she was told to do something she might not be in the mood for. No problem, it is normal, her desire to explore rules her emotions. As two was approaching this summer I realized Chloe was quickly becoming 90% sweet, 10% spicy and that spicy side was VERY spicy. She really is laid back, fun, quirky, sweet, and easily adaptable, but BUT if you do cross her during a spicy mood….well let’s just say a battle of womanly wills began to clash with the two of us. Of course mommy gets the last say but I am now seeing the beginnings of what will be battle lines that will take many forms over the years.
Truly, I have no complaints about her. She is all that we could have prayed for and more. She is smart as a whip and has a great sense of humor at such a young age. She gets a joke and when she is being teased…which is great because we were totally going to sell her by two if she couldn’t hang with the Portnoy humor. She just eeked in!
So I took my sweet and spicy girl outside for a stroll around the yard. Nothing big deal or too “photoshoot”. Just Chloe being in Chloe’s world.
I wish you could be around her when she doesn’t know you are there, she says and does the funniest things. Enjoy my girl, my laughter and my joy, Chloe Grace in all her toddler glory. We love you baby!

Grace may be her middle name but not necessarily indicative of her skill set.
Love her little hippo teeth.
Chloe, party of one, Chloe party of one, your table is now ready.
A very Chloe face. Saying “owwww”
