Spring is in the air! I love how all our 2009 couples are coming out from the winter blanket (that doesn’t want to go away for good!) and dusting off their spring duds for some sassy engagement shoots.
We are going to start off with our first spring couple, Hillary and Josh. They are just a few weeks away from two major milestones. Hillary is graduating from college May 9th and then a week later getting married on May 16th!! I can not imagine tackling these two huge tasks within days of each other but if you met Hillary and saw how incredibly laid-back and happy she is about life, you see she takes it ALL in stride.
Hillary stressed the point that she and Josh have a hard time being serious so we thought starting our session at a local park might ease them into the more “serious” part of our session. I think it worked.
Hillary has a great range of expressions.
Josh totally rocked his 8 seconds on this wild bronco.
This picture is the result of a failed idea. I brought some of Chloe’s chalk with us thinking we could do something with it. Ryan and I thought it would be fun to outline Josh and Hilary running towards one another and then take pictures with them mimicking the drawing.
UNFORTUNATELY….our drawing got a bit crazy looking. Josh’s feet look like they have a serious case of edema and he has a small case of humpback going on. My Hillary has one polio leg. It was a worthy effort but we could not execute it properly. (Insert “back to the drawing board” puns!)
Now they were warmed up enough to tackle a more serious session.
I’d like to think if Hillary were ever to take up singing folk music and cut a record she should use this as her cover shot.
We made a quick detour over to Liberty University to the classroom that started it all. You are looking at a piece of history for this couple. The very room/seats where they first met.
We wrapped up our session with a few more fun ones. Ryan couldn’t argue with their wardrobe change! Go Sox!
A few jumping shots. This first one cracks us up. Josh proved just how flexible he can become when dared to do a toe touch.
You guys were great. We can’t wait to meet your family and friends in a few weeks and photograph the real deal! Happy graduation Hillary! Congrats!
