Jacob Zachary Concert
posted by Kelly
Our sweet and soulful friend, Jacob Zachary, rode the southern winds from Louisiana up into the ‘Burg for the weekend. Jacob is a big teddy bear that you want to hug and laugh with all at once. We were blessed to call him friend and to have had him sing at our wedding. We often grow nostalgic when we listen to his CD. If you have any free moments and are looking for some new music…you MUST go listen to some of his tunes online. If I had to direct you to just one song, I say “Diesel Moon/Marlboro Sun”. It is a song he wrote about a fictitious father and son. The father is a trucker on the road and his son buys an old CB radio so he can keep in contact with him while he is away. It is a haunting and beautiful song.
We got to soak in two hours of Jacob playing Monday night at The White Hart. I think a smile was permanently glued to my face. Although it was a short visit we enjoyed seeing our dear friend and sharing some mac and cheese with him before he skipped town again.
Here are some shots Ryan took during the concert.
Jacob played with a friend of ours, Brian Morykon for a few songs as well as Brian played a few sets.
