There is nothing better than when we get a wedding inquiry from a bride gushing about our work. I get all warm and sugary inside and my heart swells a centimeter or two. It’s so nice when people fall in love with your style and feel they “must have YOU!” That’s what is so great about the wedding photography business…there is someone for everyone. In our case, it’s Katherine and Mark. We got an awesome email from them letting us know that under no circumstances were we to book their wedding date! They wanted US! They were both finishing up their last semesters at Harvard (smarty pants!) and were planning a June 2010 wedding. Emails started flying and our courtship of photographer and bride began.
After graduation Katherine started law school at University of Virginia and Mark started dentistry school Virginia Commonwealth University. As you can see, these two aren’t the least bit academically motivated! This finally put us all in the same state! We headed up to Richmond to spend the evening hanging out with these two lovebirds in the hip Shockoe Slip area of Richmond.
They were nervous at first but in no time were lip locking and striking a pose like two pros.
A red door can only lead to one thing, red hot kisses. OWWWWWWWW!
And now we’ll Segway to our next location for our shoot. ZING!!
Mark and Katherine switched gears into some casual duds and we headed over to Maymont Park for some laid-back fun. They decided to pack a little picnic to bring along. They were gracious enough to share the amazing chocolate chip cookies they packed. YUM!
I always like to see if our couples have any hidden talents. Neither one claimed to be jugglers but I asked them to try anyway.
Ryan used to travel with a circus displaying his freaky height and juggling skills, so he gave Mark and Katherine a little lesson. (Kidding about the circus part, but not the freaky height or lesson) Ryan would like it to be known that he thinks he looks like a “Goob” in these pictures. I find him and his braces adorable.
The sun was quickly slipping away….
My favorite shot of the day…dreamy creamy goodness.
After our shoot we went out for some ridiculously good pizza where we got to learn so many interesting things about their families and their lives. We are so excited to shoot their wedding next June and witness what so many others will…an awesome union of two amazing people! Mark and Katherine, we thoroughly enjoyed our time with you. Have a great year at grad school.
