Ellen Vintage Bridal Session

posted by Kelly

So Ellen called me with a brilliant and thoughtful idea for her mom. She wanted to do a special bridal session and sneak her mom’s old wedding gown out of her house along with her grandmother’s headpiece and shoes and do a vintage inspired shoot at the church her parents got married at. Go head…I’m listening….

How cool of a gift is that? Not only was she decked out in her mom’s gown and grandmother’s accessories, she brought along the portrait of her mom on her wedding day so we could work that into the shoot as well.

It was a simple setting, simple concept….but Ellen’s classic beauty and the fact she bears an uncanny resemblance to her mother at the age her mom got married made the shoot so exciting.

This is her mom’s original veil. Doesn’t she look like you could pop her on top of a cake?

I wish I was there when she gave her mom all the pictures she printed. As her mom told me at the wedding, “Once I figured out it wasn’t me in the pictures and it was Ellen in my dress, I boo hooed myself all night.” That sounds like a gift well appreciated.

Imagine actually being able to fit into your mother’s wedding dress - Mum made her’s into baby’s dresses for me and my twin sister - don’t think that’s going to fit me anymore!!!

Great shots, as per usual!

she looks just like her mom! i kept doing a double take to the close up of the photo. the first one with the veil looks like it’s straight from the ’60s!

AWESOME!

Ellen, what a “great honor” to your mother. I could see the pride in her face, on your wedding day. You were a “beautiful” bride. Of course you know you and your mother both resemble the “Martin” side of the family. Ha! Ha!
Love,
 Cousin
