I wish I had awesome pictures to show you from our NYC getaway…but alas I might as well take a picture of a puddle because that sums up a lot of the trip…RAIN RAIN RAIN. It wasn’t all gloom and doom mind you, but it did put a pin in a lot of our plans. We did go and see Wicked on Broadway and it was AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME!!! (You have to listen to the song “Popular” on the link…hilarious. Such a highlight of the trip. We ate incredible food and got to hang out with some old friends as well as relax in a kid-free environment. We really can’t complain, it was so nice to get away.
Our trip came together in a matter of a few weeks. We realized quickly that we were going to have a great opportunity to meet one of our future clients face to face and squeeze in an engagement session between all the rain and drizzle. Kenley and Michele have an awesome family wedding planned in Miami Beach in March and we didn’t think we were going to meet them before the wedding seeing as they reside in Hoboken, NJ. The stars aligned and after we gorged ourselves on diner food we headed out to brave the elements.
Kenley and Michele quickly fell into rhythm together. They are affectionate, sweet, and make each other laugh easily. It made our job a cake walk.
Kenley pulled out his phone to show us an album cover that he loves. It was Bob Dylan’s FreeWheelin album. Her particularly loves the photo and wanted us to be inspired by it. These are some shots centered around the look of that album.
We headed over to Washington Square Park on the campus of NYU where Michele went to school.
We are all nerds in our own right about something. Don’t get Ryan started on baseball or any form of technology…MAJOR NERD! Kenley and Michele were not ashamed that their nerdery resides in the form of comic books. No problem, we can dig that. Kenley worked it out so we could go up and shoot in one of his favorite comic book stores in NYC at Madison Square Park.
We hit up the park for one last shot at outdoor shots while the rain was a drizzle level.
Kenley and Michele, you guys did awesome. You were such great sports about the weather and just let it roll. We loved hearing your story and look forward to some Cuban dancing in just a few months. Happy engagement period!
