If you are a frequent reader of our blog then you will remember a few months back when we blogged about how excited we were about our 2010 brides. So much creative energy! In particular, we were thrilled about our budding relationship with Ming and Dan. Ming is very outside the box. She is the creator of those awesome decoder Save the Dates. You have to check them out if you missed it before.
We were pumped to travel down to Pounding Mill, Virginia…home of the famous Cuz’s Restaurant, which happens to be Ming’s family restaurant. It was a windy, crisp spring afternoon and we had a day of tromping around in mud ahead of us. It isn’t often when the dress code of the day calls for all parties to sport wellies.
Everything was kept pretty simple and classic just like Ming and Dan…using the elements around us to provide the framework for the photos. First up was a small creek running behind her parents cabins.
Ryan works for this amazing leather design company, Moore and Giles, as a commercial photographer. He basically has a camera as a third appendage. We own a few of their bags (score!!) and thought we would throw some into the shoot with Ming and Dan. Seemed to fit the rustic nature of the creek. I mean let’s be honest, who doesn’t stand in a creek with wellies on holding beautiful leather bags? Sheesh….
We took a little drive up the road to some more family property housing a smattering of dilapidated buildings, a farm houses and a few livestock.
This picture amuses me greatly. I think it should be their greatest hits cover.
Last stop of the day as we were racing the sun was a nice open field.
Ming and Dan, I do believe you could add “Chill” as your middle name. The day was so relaxing and fun. Thank you for the amazing dinner at your parents restaurant, I am still salivating over the crab dip….yum! We can’t wait to come back down in August for your backyard shindig of a wedding! It’s going to be awesome.
