Kites, records, birdcages, buttons, mason jars, ceramic birds…..just a few things Beth threw into their car on their way down from Maryland for their engagement shoot on Sunday. The weather was unseasonably comfortable with a slight, balmy breeze, emphasis on the “slight”. We had high hopes heading out to the Appomattox battlefields that we would be in prime kite-flying fields. Despite Floyd’s diligent efforts to get the little yellow diamond kite soaring….alas…there were only a few brief moments of air time logged.
We finally ditched the kite flying and moved onto a friend’s farm for a more rural feel. Beth and Floyd worked some magic together while we incorporated some of the great props she brought along. The birdcages and ceramic birds will actually be used at their July wedding next summer. I love her poppy yellow and teal color scheme…I’m always a sucker for color!! She has been working tirelessly juggling various D.I.Y projects which I can’t wait to see come together next summer.
Beth and Floyd, we had such an enjoyable evening with you guys. You are both so laid back and easy going, the night flew by. We were so glad we were able to join you for dinner afterwards and learn more about your relationship, it just made us more excited to shoot your wedding next year.
Enjoy your pictures!!
