Kenny came into our lives at a point in our business when we were drowning. Drowing in album orders, drowning in emails, editing, needing an extra hand on shoots, etc…. The Lord knew we needed Kenny not only to keep the integrity of our business going but to help ease some of the strain in our marriage. We were working ourselves like dogs and it was time for an intern…it was time for Kenny!
He was an awesome help through our 2009 season pitching in where ever we needed him. I was always amazed at his good attitude even while performing menial tasks for us. He’s like a little brother and we love him. We couldn’t have been more honored when he asked if we would shoot his wedding to his gorgeous, sweet bride Sarah. Absolutely!
We logged some serious miles making our way up to Ocean City, NJ fighting DC traffic and a GPS that wanted to lie to us. It was totally worth it when we pulled in. Ocean City is a pristine beach town on the south Jersey shoreline. The houses were a mixture of Charleston, SC meets New England. Beautiful!
We couldn’t wait to get started on Saturday at the historic Flanders Hotel and along the boardwalk. Enjoy Part 1 of Kenny and Sarah’s beautiful day!
Sarah was a knockout. I love her old Hollywood hair and makeup.
I’m completely love this series.
Kenny wasn’t looking too shabby himself.
First look inside the hotel.
We started off on the boardwalk in a unique way. Not only was September 18th their wedding day, it was also BOTH of their birthdays. We toasted the day with cupcakes.
Sarah working it like she’s getting paid. Hot mama.
There was a point while we were shooting that last series that I was convinced the world was about to end. I had forgotten that they said an air show would be going on the entire time of our First Look. As I was engrossed in directing the shoot the first of three airplanes soared over the boardwalk at break-neck speed with a decibel level I can’t even begin to explain intelligibly. My heart dropped into my feet I was so scared. After I picked myself up off the floor we were able to enjoy their acrobatics over the ocean.
Adjacent to the Flanders hotel is a small amusement park. The workers were so friendly and allowed us to hop on and off a few rides to take in the color and energy of the park. It was so much fun.
They even turned the Ferris Wheel on for us so we could go to the top. Ryan rode with Kenny and Sarah and I rode in the bucket behind them to grab another perspective. I distinctly remember as we were paused at the top for a few minutes thinking “I can’t believe I am getting paid to do this!” It was GORGEOUS out, I am looking over the ocean at the top of a ferris wheel watching an air show…oh and “working”.
I think Sarah looks drop dead gorgeous in this shot.
The color, the light-heartedness of the boardwalk, the gorgeous ocean breeze….yeah…it was just that perfect of a “First Look”. Next up is the beach ceremony, reception and another private session at sunset on the beach. Oh there is loveliness….loveliness coming your way.
