Emily and Davis~ Married

posted by Kelly

TOP THREE people!!!
This wedding, by far, is in my top three favorite to ever photograph. It had everything from a crazy rad venue, weather from HEAVEN, golden delicious lighting also from heaven, and super chill, sweet couple. Nothing, I repeat nothing was stressful about this wedding day and EVERYTHING I repeat EVERYTHING was beautiful and interesting to look at. The theme is mod meets whimsy. Totally left field right, yet it worked together. For the first time ever, The Rice House, which was built by famous architect Richard Neutra, opened their doors for a wedding. A classic 60’s mod house (it seriously looked like a movie set) played host to wedding and reception of Emily and Davis. It’s perched right on a cliff overlooking the James River. They also wanted to incorporate the flavor of their new home town of Portland into the day. What emerged was a super earthy, whimsical, almost Tim Burton vibe. (the bouquets and cake were surreal!)

I’m so happy to finally be able to show this wedding. There are more images to be found in the summer/fall issue of Richmond Bride Magazine on stands in a few weeks! Emily and Davis, you guys were spectacular to work with. There could not have been a better wedding day to shoot. All that imagination you had in planning was so beautifully executed by many. Enjoy this walk down memory lane of your perfect day!

Amazing!!! The cake is the most unique and beautiful one I’ve seen! That shot of the bride and the flower girl is just stunning. Beautiful photography-beautiful wedding.

Kelly and Ryan, your work is beautiful and we are grateful that bridesmaid Erin R. found you! The “first look” helped the happy couple relax and appreciate their special time together before the ceremony. Thank you from all of us!
