Resources / Planning

Ready, set, plan! You are finally engaged and now comes the hard part, planning! Do not be overwhelmed, dear bride, I am hear to help you. I was there not too long ago planning my wedding to Ryan.

You could pay a fortune for wedding magazines (which I am not against) or you can sit in a nice comfy chair, pour a fresh cup of coffee, get some super girly paper to write on and put on some chill music. Crack the knuckles on your right hand because you are about to start clicking!

Our Favorites

There is an endless supply of wedding planning resources out there, but let me direct you to some of our all time favorites! You may just stumble across some of our work.

Headpieces

Veils are great....but have you thought of wearing netting, a feather, a broach, a box hat, etc.? For unique headpiece ideas check out a few of my favorites:

Branding Your Wedding

Don't underestimate the power of branding your wedding. It's the best way to keep your ideas and theme of your day on track.

Let us know if you are stuck on a detail...we are full of ideas!!! (info@kellanstudios.com)

From a photographers point of view:

Remember your wedding details should reflect your personalities. Nobody is one dimensional, so your wedding shouldn't be either!

Personal touches are encouraged....got an inside joke? ...include your guests. Favorite coffee or tea? ...include a sample as a favor, etc...

For heavens sake...Do not shy away from color! The rule of thumb tends to be pick one neutral and add two punch colors. Neutrals are not just black and white....gray, navy, khaki, and brown are also considered neutrals! Your pictures will have much more punch with pops of color in your flowers, linens, cake, and accessories. We love color with our whole hearts. Details make or break the wedding theme.

Think floor to ceiling. Your photographs will encompass the entire room....Don't neglect your ceiling! Strings of lights, flower balls, real flowers, fabric, branches, you name it.....there are so many great ways to create an amazing and interesting canopy above. (If you don't already have a great ceiling that is!)

Accessories are HOT HOT HOT this year for the bride. Colored shoes and headpieces are all the rage and we couldn't be happier. Feathers, birdcage veils, vintage broaches, a box hat. Vintage style dresses, ruby red lips, and romantic hair round out the look for 2011! VAVAVOOM!

So get clicking ladies, there is planning to be done!
